Introduce
We are pleased to introduce ourselves as M/s. Cot Agro India Pvt. Ltd an Agro based Industry started during the year 1997 to manufacture composted coir pith, 5 KG coir pith block and 25 KG coir pith bales.

Our factory is situated in Soorangudi which is in the midway of Nanguneri-Kalakad Main Road, Tirunelveli District. The coir pith is an eco-friendly decomposing material. This is sourced from the coconut de-fibering units. The coir pith is cleaned, dried, sieved and then compressed to form a square block in the weight of 5 KG. The same is palletized and then shipped. In one 40 HC container 20 M. Ton is shipped.

25 KG coir pith bales is manufactured in an another imported automatic machine in which the cleaned, dried and sieved coir pith is fed into conveyor. The compression takes place in a bag of size 80 x 44 x 33 cm and the same is sealed automatically after compression. In one 40 HC 15 M. Ton is shipped. A total of 600 bags is shipped.
The coir pith blocks are free from weeds and pathogens and are within safe EC and pH standards. Usage of coir pith blocks ensures high oxygen levels and thus good drainage properties. They reduce the dormancy period of seeds and promote early sporting in almost all flowering plants and vegetable crops. It can be used as a substitute for peat moss, for horticultural purposes and it can also be used for green houses, commercial and domestic gardens. Many growers world over have started to use coir pith blocks instead of peat moss.

Coir pith block can be used as potting medium. It can be mixed with required fertilizers and nutrients according to the type of plant to be grown. Coir pith blocks are being used by a lot of mushroom growers around the world for the large scale production of edible mushrooms. Re-hydrated coir block mixed with soil improves water holding capacity and aeration. Coir dust in starter containers speeds up germination and profuse rooting of the seedlings. Wetted coir brick in poly bags encourages initial growth phase of tissue cultured plants and grafted seedlings.

The physical properties of coir pith block-it has good water retention, increased aeration, and quick wet ability. It is a solid potting medium and substratum for plants. The chemical properties of coir pith block-it is 100% organic, holds water seven times its weight, contains natural rooting hormones. It has a pH of 5. 2 to 6. 8 ideal for plant growth.

Coir being fibrous in nature holds many air pockets which helps the crops to root easily and profusely. This increases the surface area of root system thereby facilitating better absorption of nutrients from soil. Absorbs water rapidly and holds it for longer periods preventing desiccation of plants during hotter climates especially in tropical areas. Coir amended soil combats bacterial and fungal infections.
