- With more than 20 years of experience of its owners the Amazon Oil Industry is a specialist supplier of bioactive ingredients from renewable non-timber forest products of the Amazon Rainforest.
The cold extracted oils and butters produced from Amazonian oilseeds are used as unique ingredients by the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, and textile industries.
The Amazon Oil Industry is located in the metropolitan area of Belem, the capital of the state of Para. Its location is ideal because it provides easy access to the Amazonian Tropical Rainforest and its rivers of the Amazon basin. It is also near to Marajo Island, which is the largest sea river archipelago in the world providing a wealthy diversity of oilseeds.
We buy directly from the forest communities, thus avoiding middleman, guaranteeing a fair price to them. We can offer complete traceability and supply chain of all our products.
Recently we acquired the registered license of the Federal Ministry of Environment for accessing and sharing the benefits from the use of genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge (ABS). Local Amazonian communities are directly involved in a sustainable production process in which all parties, the industry, the community and the forest, benefit.
