- Bangladesh Thai Plastics Industries Ltd was establish in 1983 and was the first in the country to produce HDPE shopping bags for domestic consumptions only. Since 2004 Bangladesh govt. has banned producing/distributing shopping bags because of environmental reasons and the company has focused in the food packaging, injection molding (caps), industrial wrappings etc.
