Introduce

Valtea winery was created in the Nineties, but the culture and the traditional elaboration in the property have more than two centuries.This zone is including within the Designation of Origin Rias Baixas of quality wines.

The Albarino grape variety has small bunches with spherical and green-yellowish colour berries. It has low yields but an excellent alcoholic degree. Adegas Valtea is placed on the bank of the Mino River, in front of the Portuguese vines.

The place has a special microclimate that allows to reach the necessary grape ripeness in order to make a quality wine. The old vines (most of them are over 30 years old) are fondly taken care of, which somehow makes the production more limited, but also guaranties quality. Technology and the art of elaboration are also fundamental in the cellar for the excellence of the final product. All is hand work. We crop thin in order to avoid excessive load in the vines and so achieve a higher concentration of sugars and other minerals in the fruit.

Our wines are the maximum expression of the land, its climate and its historic moment.
We are supported by the Galician Government because we are only five wineries among more than 600 that have obtained the Quality Certificate by Galicia Calidade, to represent the best quality of the province.

In the tasting held last July 26 at the headquarters of the Rias Baixas DO Regulatory Council, organized by the Galician Association of Tasters, Albarino Valtea Finca Garabato 2009 obtained the highest score: 99 out of 100.
Likewise, Adegas Valtea has placed two albarino wines among the best, getting Albarino Valtea 2010, 94 points and 92 points for Pedras Rubras 2007.

Adegas Valtea expresses its great satisfaction to have placed all their wines at the elite wines of Galicia, and FINCA GARABATO ahead of them.
