- We are a wholesale dealer of natural marble in a various forms, fossils and minerals based in Morocco. We have been in business for over 17 years. We participate in major minerals and fossils shows in the USA and Europe. We export in container quantities to different parts of the world.
The moroccan fossil marble is dintinctively unique and comes usualy in different shades of black brown and grey. It dates back to the jurassic and cretaceous periods(65and 435 million years ago), all of the marble contains fossilized marine life including amonites, orthoceras. The ammonites have a spiral shell similar to the closely related nautilus. They are also related to squid and octopus. Their name comes from the egyptian god ammon(amun). They appeared around 400 million years ago and evolved very quickly, making them useful for dating rocks. Ammonites became extinct at the same time as the dinosaurs,65 million years ago. Orthoceras means("straight horn") they are a genus of extinct cephalopod.
The pattern of the fossils in the marble is radom thusly no two piecesare alike.
